Happy Sunday! For today's video message, I wanted to acknowledge a difficult question/dilemma facing guys on this journey in all phases.
It often feels like this journey is not worth it. Why be heterosexual? Everybody seems to make life unlivable for men who want to be with women. And it is not only LGBTs and feminists, but Christians and conservatives who seem to push male heterosexuals into a no-escape dead-end. If they feel urges toward women, Christian conservatives and liberal feminists both beat up on men for doing something wrong, "disrespecting" females by wanting to make love to them. If they ask women out, they are creepy, a harasser, and unchristian. If they engage in foreplay, kissing, or petting with a female, it is treated by everyone from left to right as the exact same thing as having sexual intercourse. And then if there is sexual intercourse, straight men have to deal with the danger of pregnancy, the threat of being accused of assault, and the reputation of being a misogynistic pervert. Then there is always divorce court waiting to fleece you.
It's bleak. And I know some guys on this journey are feeling discouraged because this is something they didn't anticipate. They thought everyone would cheer them on for making a change and going to these lengths to become straight. They find, in the end, nothing but personal attacks and animosity and people relentlessly condemning them.
It seems so easy: just go back to being gay.
But I say in this video message, please don't give up hope. One thing stands above all in this. God made you male, and He made you to be with a woman. Ignore everything else, be courageous and strong, and obey God.
